Speech Language Pathologist

 

With 30 years of experience in the field of speech-language pathology, Melynda Cox is a dedicated professional committed to enhancing students' communication abilities in the school setting. She holds a B.S. in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Texas Tech University and an M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Texas, along with ASHA certification. In her current role, Melynda evaluates, diagnoses, and provides evidence-based therapy to students with speech, language, and communication disorders. She conducts comprehensive assessments across articulation, fluency, voice, and language development and collaborates with educators, parents, and professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support each student's academic and social success. Known for her collaborative approach, Melynda also provides guidance to teachers and parents on strategies to support students in the classroom and communicates regularly on student progress. She remains current in the field through ongoing professional development and may supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants, further enriching her impact within the school community.
